Smithville Empty Bowl Project

Helping Feed People in Need
April 15, 2017 - 11am-2pm

Mary Nichols Art Center
301 Burleson, Smithville, TX 78957
(512) 360-7397

The Empty Bowl Project is a national grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to organizations working to end hunger and food insecurity. The Smithville Food Pantry, Smithville Community Gardens, Lost Pines Artisan's Alliance & Angels Unware are working together to bring a fun, informative day to the citizens of Smithville and the surrounding areas. Join us on Saturday, April 15, 11am - 2pm, for a fun day of speakers, music and wonderful local food. Soups and breads are donated by local restaurants.
