The show runs from July 3rd through August 28th, with the Artists' reception on July 9th from 5 pm till 8 pm at the Mary Nichols Art Center in Smithville Texas.
The Twisted Sisters is a group of four very talented and yes very twisted artists. They are sisters by friendship and by their love for art, photography and taking things to a new and much more twisted level. They don’t like to stay in the box...they push the limits of the media they love.
Bonnie McConnell is truly on the cutting edge of digitally enhanced photography. She pushes the limits by printing on the most obscure of substrates including fusible webbing and metal.
Michele Brower is a photographer that sees beauty in the obscure. Doll parts pull her heart strings as she’s give them new life in dimensional assemblage.
Melissa Slepekis is a well trained photographer who specializes in pinhole photography. Showing her works as far as Europe, she keeps the traditional techniques alive in her art.
Stephanie Shroyer is a mosaic artist who has found a way to utilize her own photographs by firing them into glass. These products are then incorporated into her art.
The Twisted Sisters show will emphasize the broken boundaries that most people shy away from in their mediums. You will also enjoy collaborations created by the sisters just for this event.
