The Lost Pines Artisans Alliance is a non profit arts organization promoting the arts in Bastrop County. LPAA is based in Smithville, Texas in the Lost Pines region in Bastrop County.
Membership meetings are held at 6:30pm every third Tuesday of the month at the the Mary Nichols Art Center at 301 Burleson in Smithville, Texas.

The Lost Pines Artisans Alliance is currently offering free art classes for children and teens at the Smithville Recreation Center. Check our schedule below for specific dates times and age ranges.

Art Projects for kids 5 - 8 years of age

Wednesday, July 9th 10:00am - 10:45am - Watercolor - Experiment with special watercolor techniques to provide new and exciting effects.

Wednesday, July 23rd 10:00am - 10:45am - Scratch Board - Create pictures with colored lines on a black background using this special technique.

Wednesday, August 6th 10:00am - 10:45am - Printmaking - Making a plate carved in a styrofoam blank the kids will produce fine art prints.

Summer Teen Art Project - Skate Park

Every Tuesday from 10:00am - 12:00 noon and Every Thursday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm - The teens will be working on a large scale art project to beautify the Power Plaza Skate Park with a mosaic mural. Teens can come to any sessions they want and do not have to feel they must attend all the sessions to participate. The project will be completely designed and executed by the teens with help and supervision from LPAA artists.
